Health care consumers are living in an overwhelming time in the United
States.  With traditional medical care becoming harder to obtain, and
complementary and alternative therapies continuing to be more accessible,
we now have a greater variety of options to choose from for our health care.  
However, this puts a greater burden on the consumer.  Which therapies do
we choose?  Which ones are the most suited to our individual needs?  While
traditional medical care is outstanding in surgical procedures, emergency
medicine, and controlling and managing the symptoms of illness, it falls far
short in addressing the roots of disease and the mental and emotional
spheres of our well being.  Holistic care options fill this gap.

  • Cristi Lewis will be giving a talk at the Julian Library on Thursday, June
    4th at 6:00 pm.  Sponsored by the Community Parent Coalition, she will
    be speaking on "Holding Spaces for our Children - How Mindfulness
    Can Make Us Better Parents."  Admission is free.

  • Are you interested in attending a weekly meditation class?  Plans are
    being made right now to create a community meditation class in Julian
    for the Fall of 2009.  All ages and experience levels are welcome.
