FAQs About Homeopathy
Are Homeopathic Remedies Safe?  What Are They Made Of?

All homeopathic remedies are FDA approved, and most are available over-the-counter.
Homeopathic remedies are much safer than conventional medications when specially
prepared in a process called potentization.  A natural plant, animal, or mineral
substance is first diluted in water, then "sucussed", or shaken, and diluted again.
This process is repeated until the desired potency is reached.  In this way, the possible
deleterious side effects of the natural substances are minimized and the inherent
healing qualities of the remedies are enhanced.  It has been proven through more than
200 years of empirical evidence that the more potentized a homeopathic solution, the
deeper and more effective are its effects upon the human body.  A single dose of a
remedy can act for many months upon a person's symptoms.

Traditional, or classical, homeopathy also administers only one remedy at a time to a patient.  This eliminates
the unpredictable effects of two or more remedies acting at the same time and allows the homeopath to match
the patient's individual symptom picture with the best possible remedy for that patient.

Homeopathic remedies are tested, or "proved", only on healthy people in order to know their effects upon the
body, mind, and spirit of a person.  In this way, homeopaths can recognize these symptoms in a sick patient
and give the appropriate medicine through the
Law of Similars.  They are never tested on sick people, who may
experience fluctuating symptoms with no way to differentiate the effects of the remedy, nor are they tested on
animals.
