How is a Homeopath Different From a Naturopath? A homeopath treats a patient with homeopathic remedies, and may include nutritional counseling or other complementary lifestyle recommendations. A traditional, or classical, homeopath will only prescribe one remedy at a time (as opposed to combination remedies) and avoids invasive techniques such as intravenous injections. A certified naturopath is trained in a variety of alternative therapies (acupuncture, herbalism, etc.) as well as conventional medical techniques. Often, naturopaths will use homeopathy in their practices, but their training in this medical tradition may not be as extensive as a homeopath. |
